I am delighted to share that I will be presenting a solo booth with Galerie Ron Mandos at Art Brussels 2026. For this presentation, I created three new large-scale paintings that together form an immersive, contemplative environment. Installed within a completely black booth, the works explore the tension between light and darkness, architecture and void.
Pronaos Tenebris I and Pronaos Tenebris II open as antechambers: shadowy structures where stairs, masses, and voids slow the gaze and give the space an almost tangible density. Here, darkness is not a threat, but a formative element — a place where perception sharpens. Between these two works appears Ex tenebris Lux, in which a white oculus breaks through the black architecture. The light that enters is small, yet decisive: not an explanation, not a solution, but a minimal shift that reorients the space. At a time when unrest and uncertainty narrow our horizon, this opening reminds us that clarity often begins as something exceedingly modest.
Together, the works do not form a closed narrative, but a field of tension. A movement from shadow to light, from enclosure to possibility. Here, hope is not articulated, but made tangible, as a quiet presence that emerges precisely where darkness seems most dense.
In addition to the solo booth, Galerie Ron Mandos will also present a freestanding architectural sculpture of mine in their main booth at the fair, continuing my exploration of archetypal structures stripped of their original function, ornament, and dogma. What remains are autonomous forms, such as monuments, relics, and shrines.
